Dungeons and Dragons (Low Stakes Gameplay)

February 27, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

Join us for a low stakes of Dungeons and Dragons!

Q: What’s the difference between High Stakes D&D and Low Stakes D&D?
A: The difference will be in the play style! The High Stakes game will be more strict regarding rules and maintaining consistency/believability within the world. This option is best for participants looking for a serious, story-driven campaign with earnest gameplay and in-game consequences for their roleplay choices. The Low Stakes game will be more lax, allowing players more whimsy without being bogged down by plot. This option is best for participants who prefer little-to-no preparation of their character, goofy plothooks, and gameplay that is light on consequences. Participants may only choose one of the games for the month, but are not obligated to choose the same game in following months.

Q: I’ve never played D&D before, can I participate?
A: Yes! We are beginner-friendly and will answer any questions you have. It might be beneficial to have at least some idea of the general concepts (the purpose of dice rolls, what it means to “roleplay”) but you don’t have to be an expert to play with with us.

Q: What do I need to play D&D with ROC? Should I make a character beforehand?
A: All you will need is a free Roll20.net account, which requires only an email address to sign up. Don’t go out of your way to fill in a character sheet ahead of time unless you’re okay with writing it twice – the beginning of the session will be dedicated to creating character sheets using Roll20’s features for the sake of ease of play.
