Mason (They/He)
Assistant Director
Hi! I'm Mason. I worked at my local library as the summer program coordinator a few summers ago, and volunteered when I was younger with various groups. I got to attend sleepaway camp as a teen, but struggled to find somewhere I felt comfortable in. This is part of why I'm so excited to work at Rainbow Camp.
I just finished my diploma in Supply Chain and Operations Management, and will be continuing onto my bachelors in Commerce. I'm really interested in effective and efficient delivery of services, and I hope to be able to use some of the skills I'm learning in my studies. (Sorry for the 'resume talk' I promise I do actually say stuff like that in real life, I really am a nerd about systems). When I'm not nerding out about systems and operations, I knit, sew, and do anything related to fiber arts. I also love board games, and Star Trek.

Jay (She/They)
Camp Coordinator
Hi! I'm Jay (she/they). I'm from North Carolina (USA). I attended and worked at an LGBTQ+ summer camp (QORDS in North Carolina) previously and am so excited to join the team at Rainbow Camp.
I believe summer camp has a special magic not seen anywhere else. I'm so excited to live and laugh in the woods together this summer. I've been camping my whole life and have led many backpacking, canoeing, and rock climbing trips. I also love to cook, bake, crochet, jam out to many kinds of music, and splash around in any body of water.
I did a research project about the joy and magic provided by inclusive summer camps. Ask me about it!

Porter (He/Him)
Program Director
What's up? I'm Porter, a proud queer & trans man with a life-long love in crafting fun experiences. I’ve been studying and working in game design for 8 years. I have incredibly fond memories of camp as both a camper and a counselor— from pure silly theatrics of themed nights to enjoying the beautiful wilderness with friends— and I’m so excited to return to my roots and apply all I’ve learned from my past experiences.
I also love picking up random eccentric hobbies or kicking back and making silly little comics of characters I’ve made since I was a kid, and I’m looking forward to crafting awesome experiences with everyone at Rainbow Camp this summer!

Neo (He/They/It)
Program Coordinator
Camp life for me is about slowing down. Stepping away from the "normal" world to find some peace and rest with nature. When I'm not at camp, I'm working on art and music-- I'm a textile artist and pianist!

Gwen (She/They)
Camp Medic
Hello! I’m from the Algoma, ON area. I’ve spent the last 3 years working with university students providing on campus after-hours support (medical, mental, scholarly, the works). I’m trained in First Aid/CPR, active listening and emergency response protocols. I’m excited to join the team and work in a camp setting this year, and looking forward to a wonderful summer and making life-long memories.
I’m an English Lit major, and have recently come to the terms with the fact that Shakespeare may be a cool guy (but don’t get me started on how much I hate his ‘Richard lll’; evil evil man), though my true love will forever be the gothic Romantics (Coleridge’s “Rime of an Ancient Mariner,” Mary Shelley’s 'Frankenstein'). At my core, I’m also just a simple guy who enjoys hockey (less so now with the Leafs performances -_-) and would love to chat about sports and books :)).

Lisa (They/Them)
Programming Leader
My name is Lisa (they/them) and at camp I go by Basil (Lisa B backwards). I am a self-described camp junkie and have been going to camp since I was 8 years old. I love being outdoors whether it is hiking, biking, or reading in a hammock. I love plants and gardening. Traveling is my jam, and Canada is my 5th country to live in with over 30 countries visited! I have completed the Guinness World Record Longest Commercial Abseil (670 ft/ 204m in Semonkong, Lesotho).
The magic of camp to me is the beautiful connections we make and the community we build. I love facilitating team building activities, and I am excited to spend nearly every night around a campfire with so many other wonderful humans!

Atticus (He/They)
Media Specialist
Hi! I am a student filmmaker currently based out of North Bay, Ontario and have been working, volunteering and participating in summer camps since I was 10. I love the arts and have a passion for everything theatre, film and poetry!
I am proficient on several industry standard cameras, directed and produced 2 of my own short films, and I have worked on over 20 student productions and an indie feature film! (Feel free to ask me about my projects!)
I am absolute lover of camp, it is my favourite time of the summer and I love nothing more than sitting around the camp fire and chatting with people. Whether it’s hearing/telling stories or singing camp songs, the fire is the best part of the day for me easily! Long story short I’m just excited to be doing camp stuff for yet another summer!

Loki (He/They)
Media Specialist
This is my 4th year working at summer camps, and 1st here at Rainbow Camp. Previously I have worked as head of ropes and paddlesports. Some of my closest friends I have met at camps so I am looking forward to getting to meet new people.
If you happen to see Spider-Man walking around camp, that might just be me.
I am big into theatre (yes I can give you a one man show of Hamilton), I have traveled the world so I have a lot of stories to share with you.
I like to be in the kitchen or looking after animals. I once volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation centre, both learning as well as playing with many animals. I also love big adrenaline adventures, theme parks and anything that gets my heart racing.
I’m your local Australian, so if there are any snakes you need wrangling, gimme a call.

Growing up, going to camp was always my favourite part of the year and I’m so excited to be able to facilitate that for other youth.
Camp was and still is a place that has made me feel like I can take up space, be comfortable and be included. Having this experience means that I cannot wait to help create that environment for other queer youth.
I’m currently in university pursuing Psychology and Criminology with the hopes of working with at risk youth in the future. This drive is what made me seek out a camp job! I enjoy exploring in the woods, any type of art, therapeutic activities, and playing with my dogs.
I’m overall super excited to have the chance to work with you all this summer and can’t wait to create a fun and unforgettable camp experience!!

Hello there! I’m from the Greater Toronto Area (lovely lil place) but I am typing this from my dorm at McGill University in Montreal!
I am an enjoyer of many things—too many things in fact. Fruits and flowers, good writing, musical artists (Sufjan Stevens, Adrianne Lenker, Phoebe Bridgers), the Toronto Maple Leafs (WOO MY BOYS), and being an avid thinker of the world.
I like many forms of art—mainly writing and composing music. Growing up, my favourite thing was ringette (an ice sport similar to hockey), where many leadership experiences came to be, from training with your teammates, coaching your kids and teaching the littler ones to skate.
Inevitably, I live for human connection! It is such a beautiful and sweet thing, and my reason for wanting to be an educator. With that I’m very very excited to meet you all!

Hannes (He/Him)
Program Facilitator
Sooooooo I’m a German guy visiting Canada for a year. The camp will actually mark the halftime point of my travel! I’m so excited to meet y’all and experience this crazy unique camp with you as a program facilitator/counsellor!
My passion lies in any form of creativity and I’d love to be creative with all of you too! I am currently interested in movies, writing regularly, drawing here and there, or starting random projects with dirt that I find on the ground (that only looks interesting to me and nobody else...). Sewing is also very high on my list of hobbies! I’ve worked in theater for the past year and before that did aerial silk in the circus! (That aerial acrobatics fabric that hangs from a high ceiling that they knot around themselves, then fall and catch themselves and stuff like that and then the audience goes whoaaaa…) What I wanted to say is I love the stage!

I am a recent motive power technician graduate 🥳! I've been to camps such as Camp Muskoka from the ages of 6 to 12, and I go camping, hiking and paddle boarding every year with my friends. Volunteering at ToTo Love orphanage got me interested in working to make kids' lives better.
I’m excited to be around a diverse group of people and make a place where everyone feels safe. I never really had that place so it’s nice to be able to provide it for others.
I have so many hobbies it’s hard to count. Right now I’m building a model 1959 Chevy nova. I like going on hikes, drawing, baking, knife throwing, camping, art (especially pastels), I also love zip lining. Pretty much I will try any hobby at least once 😁
I can’t wait to meet you all, let’s make this year rock! 🤘

Nova (They/Them)

I’ve been going to camps since I was 5 and I’ve worked as a counsellor for 4 summers. I’m currently in school to be a high school English teacher. My hobbies include reading, creative writing, gaming, and spending time with my pets.
Camp is one of my favourite places because it’s somewhere where everyone can be their authentic self. I love getting to be goofy and have fun doing all the camp activities together (my favourites include archery and crafts). I always leave camp with so many happy memories and I hope to help others do the same. Let’s experience some camp magic together!

Vincent (He/It)
Program Facilitator
You can call me Vince, Vinny or any nicknames of the sort. I love camping and attended many camps in my youth as well as Rainbow Camp!
I am currently in University for Forensics and Anthropology, with a minor in Psychology. Big fan of bone collecting, taxidermy, and corpse preservation as a whole. I enjoy all sorts of artistic endeavors, such as visual art, acting, writing/scripting, sewing, playing instruments etc.
I have written and directed, and acted in some of my own short scripts and other performances.
When I’m not lost in the woods or reciting Shakespeare, I like listening to fiction horror podcast (The Magnus Archives, etc), go ice skating, and read just about anything. One of my favourite musical artists is Willwood.

Dommie (She/Her)
Program Facilitator
Im Domonique (pronounced Dom-Oh-Neek), also known as Dommie! My past experience includes camp for the entirety of my life, moving on to Rainbow Camp at 16 as a camper, followed by a year of the LIT program, lastly, I did two years of Online Rainbow Camp as a LIT coordinator and program facilitator!
My passion for camp came from many years of going to camp, and it's magical to see what I would call 'the life cycle of camp'. My favourite part is how camp doesn't take itself seriously, like a magnifying glass on the goofiest part of the brain...
At my core I'm a workoholic (guys I'm working on it 🙈) my adaptability comes from the customer service and teamwork in my brain. My hobbies include my love for swimming, makeup, beauty, and hair, and I am a walking encyclopedia for all things fitness (do not ask me about weightlifting or you will lose your ear 🤓 ☝️ ). I am currently in school to be a French/social science teacher

Daniel (He/Him)
Program Facilitator
Hello! My name is Daniel, or Dan/Danny (he/him).
In the fall, I’ll be starting the Forestry program at Algonquin College, with hopes of making connections in conservation and park services. Fair warning: I always have a few fun facts up my sleeve and love sharing them.
I adore the outdoors and firmly believe that camping makes any activity at least 10x more fun. I’ve been an avid camper since the age of 4. My favourite camp activities are swimming, going on nature walks (and trying to identify everything I see), campfires, and making crafts.
I’m also a former Rainbow Camp camper. To my 14 year old self, Rainbow Camp was the safest, most impactful place I could’ve been. I’m beyond excited to give another generation of campers an unforgettable experience!

Teagan (He/They)
Program Facilitator
Hey, I'm Teagan, I am from Manitoba.
While I have been to other summer camps as a camper and staff, this will be the first one specifically that is made as a safe space for the Queer community. I am super excited to help contribute to the experience, and seeing what this summer's adventures holds.
Hobbies include pretty much anything adventurous, going for walks/ hikes, swimming, getting purposefully lost etc. but currently spending most of my free time training for my lifeguard recerts.
While I currently work as a lifeguard, I am hoping to get back to school at some point, and study for a social work degree.

Anna (They/Them)
Program Facilitator
I’ve been in love with camp life since I was five years old, splashing in creeks and crafting. These days, I’m an Environmental Sustainability major from the U.S., and I’ve worked and volunteered at a several camps.
What excites me most about camp is getting to share the little moments—the wild animal sightings, the weird nature facts, the laughter during campfires. Camp life, to me, is about slowing down enough to really notice things: a bird call you’ve never heard before, the way the moss feels under your feet, or how good it feels to just be in community.
I love hiking, rock climbing, and being barefoot near any body of water. I’m also a fan of reading, theatre, bugs, embroidery, and making way too many friendship bracelets. I can’t wait to meet you all and create a summer full of joy, connection, and outdoor adventures!

Layla (She/Her)
Program Facilitator
At the moment, I've finished my second year of university at Trent up in Peterborough for my physics major; though I'm typing this up in my family's home down in Ajax, Ontario.
I've been to Rainbow Camp twice before, and both times were transformative for me. I don't think I'd be who I am today as a trans woman if it weren't for the people I met and the experiences I had here. I remember the feeling of actually seeing people like me being strong capable adults.
I hope to help recreate this feeling in new kids this summer, as that feeling of community and belonging is crucial to so many.
To whoever reads this, I wish you strength and a reminder that you are loved for nothing but yourself. I wish you a wonderful day, and I'm so excited for the experiences this summer 💜
