Did you know that it is Asexual Awareness Week?
Over the years we have had many campers and staff in our Rainbow Camp community who identify as Asexual.
Here are some facts about Asexuality so we can all become more aware!
🌈Like everything, Asexuality is a spectrum and there is no fixed or correct way to be Asexual.
🌈Asexuality generally is an identity where someone experiences little to no sexual attraction.
🌈Asexual is often shortened to "ace."
🌈Asexual people may or may not have interest in romantic relationships. Aromantic is generally an identity where one experiences little to no romantic interest or attraction.
🌈Asexuality is NOT the same as celibacy.
🌈Asexual people can also identify as straight, trans, bi, lesbian, gay, or any other identity.
🌈Asexual does not mean that someone has never or will never have sex.
🌈Asexuality DOES count as a queer identity and should always be given space in our community.
Feel free to add more facts in the comments!
