Upcoming Dates
Tuesday, May 9 at 7:30pm EDT: Listening and Capacity-Building Workshop with Matt Hilliard and Carina Reeves
The "Listening and Capacity-Building Workshop for Parents" offers practical tools and strategies for parents to support their 2SLGBTQ+ teenagers. The workshop will focus on developing active listening skills that promote understanding, empathy, and trust between parents and their children (and between parents!). Participants will also learn techniques to regulate their own nervous system to stay present and engaged during challenging conversations. Through using these approaches, parents will gain a deeper understanding of their teenager's experiences and develop the capacity to hold space for their emotions, fears, and concerns, and be able to support each other. The workshop is designed to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for parents to learn, grow, and connect with other parents who share similar experiences.
Matt Hilliard is a relationship coach and men’s group leader. After spending years invested in a fantasy of what a relationship should be and a reality that was quite the opposite, he got serious training and experience in how to really listen, feel, how to deal with conflict, and how to understand what’s actually happening in relationships. He helps men wake up to better relationships every day, through coaching and his men’s group AWAKE. He’s appeared on various podcasts and his writing has been published on Elephant Journal, The Men’s List and The Good Men Project. He's also a parent of two teenagers, and is in the best relationship of his life.
Carina Reeves is a certified relationship coach, whose coaching is founded in tantra and Family Systems Therapy, and a professional world travelling cellist of the past twenty nine years. She helps frustrated women heal the feelings of being unloved, unseen, and unfulfilled by shifting and letting go of the hurts and beliefs that keep you feeling small, stuck, and unhappy. She is the founder of the online women’s group Goddesses In Jeans, the author of the upcoming women’s journal You Are A Goddess: 30 days to Feel Like the Goddess You Are, and the creator of the program The Playful Goddess, 6 months to uncovering your Freedom and Magic.
