Rainbow Camp’s® Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Program (Aug 15th – Aug 27th, 2018)

Program description:

This two-week program is designed for 18 and 19 year olds that identify as LGBTQ2+.  The first week will focus on leaderships, team-based activities, and social change.  In the second week, LITs will have opportunities to employ their leadership skills with younger campers with the support of Rainbow Camp® counsellors as mentors.  The Rainbow Camp® LIT program aims to foster skills in collaboration, accountability and leadership through the eyes of a camp counsellor and leaders in the LGBTQ2+ community.  In addition to the leadership programming, LITs will have opportunities to participate in traditional camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, campfires and crafts.

Topics covered will include:

  • Communication skills
  • Supporting young people / Behaviour management
  • Social change and activism
  • Anti-oppression
  • Health and safety
